In a word.......

Outside my window...It is snowing and I am so thankful that I dont have to leave the warmth of my home today and no matter what the weather we still have school!!

I am thinking...When we are done with school work we may go out and play in the snow!

I am thankful for...My husband and children!

I am wearing...my comfy jammie pants and a tshirt

I am going...to finish school work then finish laundry

I am reading...nothing at the moment.

I am hoping...to have a good year. I am planning on getting my CNA's and then try to go to school for nursing.

I am hearing...peace and quiet

Around the house...
One of my favorite things...my candles....they smell so good burning and make our home feel warm and cozy

A few plans for the rest of the week: not much! Hopefully will be able to go get Devin tomorrow. Spend some time with him during the weekend. Go to Church on Sunday! That is about it!

I hope each and every one of you have a blessed weekend!!

In a word.......

Outside my window...The sun is shining and it is a beautiful Monday. God is so good!!
I am thinking...I have so much to do today but might as well just slow down and do what HAS to be done and forget the rest! It will be there tomorrow :o)
I am thankful for...My children's health. Many others around us have been sick. So far each of my children are healthy! I am praying it stays that way!
I am wearing...My Pj's still! ITS 11:13am.......been too busy this morning to get dressed....lol
I am going...to do all I can to be a witness this week! I realize that their probably are not many more left in this old world and want to bring others to Him before it is too late.
I am reading...Just my Bible at the moment
I am hoping...for souls to be saved before it is too late!
I am hearing...my kids playing on the floor near me! I love that sound

Around the house...
One of my favorite things...is spending time with my family! God gave them to me and it is my hope to give them back. If I do not fail at that then my life will be well lived!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Football games as our season comes to an end! Cleaning, laundry Everyday!! Church, and most important of all being a witness no matter where I am or what I am doing!

I hope each and every one of you have a blessed week!!

Our First day of school.........

WOW what a blessing!! Our first day of school went VERY well :o)We got up, dressed and ate a wholesome breakfast of Oatmeal, toast and juice. Then on to our Welcome speech, devotions and prayer. Our devotion for the day was appropriately on Obedience...I did not plan that....lol Each of us prayed and our day began. Thomas did VERY well in his testing. He started off doing Math, the one subject he hates but is good at....lol After Math testing we took a break for lunch which Thomas got to pic.....Mac n Cheese and apple juice....icky!!! After lunch we resumed testing in Word Building and English. Then on to Social Studies and Science. He scored above average in all subjects except Math and he was right on grade level. I am very proud of him. This year we will be doing Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Word Building and Literature and Creative writing all ACE. I am excited! Thomas is also excited about the many things we have planned this year. I hope to keep you all up to date on what we are doing. Cant wait till tomorrow :o)

A cute email I thought I would share.......

Saying Grace In A Restaurant

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant.

My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, 'God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food , and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!'

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, 'That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!'

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, 'Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?'
As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my son and said, 'I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.'

'Really?' my son asked.

'Cross my heart,' the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), 'Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.'

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, 'Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already.'

The End

I love this story!
Please keep it moving.
Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

I hope God sends you some Ice Cream today!

Where has time gone?

It seems just yesterday Amber (my oldest) was born and now today she is grown! Her boyfriend proposed to her on Valentines day and she accepted. I have many mixed emotions. Is that normal? She is only 18 he is almost 19. They want to get married July 11th. I am just fearful because things will be hard on them. He has a good job and plans to continue his career in the medical field. She plans to go to beauty school and work part time. They both have good heads on their shoulders and are good Christian Kids (although Chris just got saved he thought he was before and just was unsure because he got saved at a young age and wanted to be sure). I just dont want them to struggle. I love them so. Amber is so excited! I am trying to be. I dont want to NOT be excited but kids sometimes dont look at the big picture. I know I have to let her go sometime I just did not think it would be so soon. So I guess I have a wedding to plan. Much to do!!!

Any tips or advice for the scared mommy would be greatly appreciated.....prayers too for the couple and their life journey!!

My frugalness for the day........

Well my old,old oven was sick (heating element went out). Dh was going to get a new element because that was WAY cheaper than a new Stove. My stove is very old, it has 2 drawers on the side for storage and one on the bottom. Anyway it was in GREAT need of cleaning. It of course is not self cleaning. So what better time to do it?!!! I was out of oven cleaner (which I hate to use because of my asthma). So I went to the net and googled (I love google...lol) homemade oven cleaner. I was directed to grandmas page...lol (dont know the exact link) This lady had several oven cleaning recipes. Since mine was so bad (seriously I had not cleaned it in months) I went for the one that was for tough stains. Well guess what I discovered it worked REALLY well!! I was shocked that such simple things really cleaned it well. I am talking baked on ick!!! Here is a few of the recipes I found. The first one is the one I used....ENJOY!!!

5 Tsp. baking soda
3 drops of dish liquid (I had Palmolive)
4 Tsp White vinegar

I made several batches because I had a big surface to cover. I poured it in the bottom and rubbed it on the sides and top. I let it set for a few minutes and then wiped it clean!!! I loved this because I could breath and it was cheep, easy and worked!!!

Here is another one (I have not tried)
1 Tsp Dish liquid
1 Tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 Tsp Bleach
1 qt warm water

It said this is for tough jobs but like I said I tried the other one first and it worked. I did not want to try this one first due to the bleach but thought I would share it. Enjoy Frugal ladies!!!
